Moving with Rheumetoid Arthritis

I have had the pleasure of watching 2 of my long time Pilates students with Rheumetoid Arthritis continue into advanced Pilates. Amazing to see people who could hardly walk, had no balance and were in pain most of the time become fully functioning. The disease won't go away, we all know that and so many exercise programs are not easy for people with RA. It can become a very dibilitating and difficult disease to deal with. Climbling stairs, walking, jumping, lifting every day activity is difficult. I have seen over time the transformation into free moving bodies. The minute the Pilates exercise is dropped though, the body reverts back to difficulties again. Congratulations and credos to my amazing long time students who discipline themselves to come to the studio 2 and 3 times a week to feel good.
