I am a retired professional dancer who wanted to keep my dancers body and stay in shape. Most exercise programs were so boring to me and Pilates seemed to be the only thing I could stick to. For me the Pilates workout felt like ballet barre laying down and it made sense to me. It was the fastest and easiest way to find my inner strength and the more I did it the stronger and toner I got. Within a couple of weeks I could see how Pilates improved my flexibility and strength from all the resistance and my stamina really picked up. I started teaching at the studio where I was taking classes and eventually received my certification in Pilates. I started in 1989 and since 2000 I have had my own studio.
